Year Three and Four visited the beach together for their first Beach School session. We made Rocky Road to fit in with their topic ‘Scrumdiddlyumptious!’ We practiced fire safety around the beach BBQ. The children spent the rest of the session exploring the water, the sand and the dunes. We spent a lot of time working with others and developing relationships across both classes.
Year One and Two visited the beach to complete activities around their topic of ‘Dinosaur Planet.’ They drew dinosaurs in the sand and made sand sculptures. They were paleontologists and excavated dinosaur bones. We all enjoyed den building with rope and tarpaulin and identifying shells using the spotter guides. We explored the shore, racing ducks and the waves themselves.
