This year, World Book Day is on Thursday 5th March. We will be celebrating this by dressing up as our favourite book characters and celebrating our love of reading. Please don’t feel as though you need to spend a small fortune on these! Old clothing can be modified to create a brilliant outfit and there are lots of great ideas online.
Next week all of the children will be enjoying the story of ‘Gregory Cool’ as part of a special themed week. Children will complete English work about the story of Gregory a boy from the UK who travels to visit his family in Trinidad. We are also very, very excited to tell you that the children will be able to meet the author and illustrator of the story Caroline Binch who will join us in school on Thursday for our World Book Day celebrations. Each class will spend some time with Caroline. They will share the work they have completed on Gregory Cool with her, get the chance to see Caroline’s work and get the chance ask a real life author lots of questions. We cannot wait!
